The first edition of The Morris Ring Circular was published in February 1983. Its founding Editor was the then Publicity Officer of the Morris Ring, Dave Berryman of Yateley Morris Men. The early Circulars were printed at Field Brothers (London) of Croydon, and published by the then Treasurer of the Morris Ring, Roger Baker.

This arrangement continued until Circular No. 7, (Spring 1985), when there was a change of printer, & in September 1985 the publisher became the incoming Bagman of the Morris Ring, Keith Francis, of Silurian Morris Men.

By Circular Number 14 (January 1989) printing had settled at Colchester, with Dennis Plenty & Co, & stayed there for the remainder of Dave Berryman's tenure as Editor. The final production under this arrangement was Circular Number 17, in March 1991.

Editorial responsibilities for Morris Ring periodicals were combined for Circular Number 20, which marked the start of Eddie Dunmore's term as Publications Officer. Circulars 20 – 22 were produced using Fleet Street Publisher running on an Atari ST. Printing, by Cherrill Print of South Croydon, saw the Circular returning “home”.

Circular Number 27 was the first edition to be entirely typeset on a PC with a Windows© operating system. By this time (April 1996), Corel Ventura (version 5) had replaced Fleet Street Publisher as the page make-up program.

Circular Number 38 marked another improvement in reproduction technology. After “distilling” the Ventura file into an Acrobat© document, the latter was burnt onto a CD for direct conversion into printing plates. The Acrobat© files were, of course, in full colour. Eddie’s tenure finished with the publication of Circular Number 48 in the autumn of 2004.
